Small Groups

Our Member only small groups are led by the Small Groups Director, who coordinates the planning of the upcoming Small Group activities and helps direct them.  

Please read the pdf document below to see the requirements for all of the small groups.

Please note that the small groups are for members of Active Newcomers ONLY (with exceptions as listed below).

The leaders of the small groups spend many hours organizing their monthly meetings. Please respond in a timely manner so they can arrange the monthly gatherings. Members who habitually do not reply as requested will be dropped from the groups.

Hiking – if you have out of town guests and a hiking event is posted, you as a member of the hiking group may bring your out-of-town guests 

Wine – if you are hosting a wine event and your spouse/partner/household member is not a member of the wine group (or Active Newcomers) or have out of town guests staying at your home, they may participate in the wine event – however, you must still meet the minimum guest requirement for hosting (8+)

Dinner and Lunch – if you are a dinner or lunch host and your spouse / partner / household member is not a member of the group BUT is a member of Active Newcomers, he/she may participate with you.

All Small Groups – if you are interested in trying a group and you are a member of Active Newcomers, you may request (by emailing Active Newcomers or the small group director) to be added to ONE of the monthly events for any groups you are interested in trying. The group leader(s) will then place you in a group for 1 event. You must then decide to join the group (and meet the group requirements) or not join the specific group(s).

 If you would like to suggest a new group, you should be willing to take the lead in getting the group started. Please talk to our Small Group Director - Sandie Butler - for information on starting a new small group.
