Small Groups

With the Club's various offerings of Small Groups activities, you have many other opportunities to get to know other members within the OTOW community while having fun and building relationships.

Introduction to Active Newcomers Club - Smalls Groups

Our Member Only Small Groups are led by the Small Group Director, who coordinates the planning of the upcoming Small Group activities and helps direct them.

Small Groups - Highlighted

Dinner Group

Our largest Small Group activity is the Dinner Group. With over 100 members, it is a club favorite.  Small groups of 10-12 will gather together at a selected local restaurant for a dinner.  Hosts are assigned on a rotational basis and organize their Dinner Club meeting location and time with the assigned members for the upcoming month. The Groups are changed every couple of month so members have a chance to meet and dine with all of the participants in the Dinner Group. This equates to about 10-12 separate Dinner Group meetings each month.

Wine Club

Our second largest Small Group gathering is the Wine Club.  Members who sign up for this group agree to host a Wine Tasting night at their home. Again, the groups are kept small, 12-15 members at a home. There are several gatherings each month to accommodate all members. The host will designate a theme and each member then brings a bottle of wine and appetizer that embodies the theme. This is a casual get together, where members enjoy a variety of wines, appetizers and excellent company while sharing knowledge about wines.   The wine groups meet the 2nd Friday of each month.

Bunco & Game Night Groups

We have several different Game activities, that are led or organized by our club members. The host will offer invitations for a specific game and then members sign up for the games they’d like to be a part of. Anyone in the game group can offer an invitation to Game Club members for any type of game they’d like to play. Canasta, Hand & Foot, Spades, and Mexican Train have been some of the more popular offerings! These events take place in the host’s home.  We also have an organized Bunco group that meets the third Tuesday of the month, during the day, at the Arbors.

Below is a short list of our current Small Group activities as well as ones that have had interest shown. Some groups listed are not active as a lead organizer has not yet stepped up.  If you would like to suggest a new group, you should be willing to take the lead in getting the group started. Please talk to our Small Group Director - Sandie Butler - for information on starting a new small group or if you’re interested in leading one of the groups listed below that are not yet active.

(All small groups will require the approval of the board to ensure consistency and understanding of policies and procedures that are in place)
